Employee Spotlight: Vanessa Pryor

At i3 Merchant Solutions, we pride ourselves on having the best employees in the industry, and this quarter, we want to feature our newest Strategic Partnership Director, Vanessa Pryor.

In 2017, Vanessa started her career at i3 Merchant Solutions as a Payment Processing Advisor, but she was just recently promoted to her new role as Strategic Partnership Director. In this position, Vanessa is in charge of seeking mutually beneficial partnerships for i3 Merchant Solutions with B2B software companies, business consultation firms, financial institutions, franchise groups, and other similar businesses.

Before coming to i3 Merchant Solutions, Vanessa worked at RDW Financial Group and Seldin Company. Vanessa loves spending time with her family, and is currently working on finishing her MBA in Business Data Analytics from the University of Southern Indiana.

We also had a Q&A with Vanessa. Here’s what she had to say:

Q. What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?

A. “Coming from a tremendous amount of adversity, I wake up every day wanting to set a positive example for my children and everyone I come into contact with. I want to show that anything is possible and that your circumstances are ever-changing, so it is up to you to change your outcome. Waking up every day and doing the absolute best with what I have will hopefully have a positive impact on both my kids and my community.”

Q. How have you grown during your time at i3 Merchant Solutions?

A. “I was somewhat hesitant when I started working in a new industry at i3 Merchant Solutions. In my first role as a Payment Processing Advisor, I worked specifically with one of our bank partners in the Indianapolis market. I worked closely with the bank’s employees to provide services to their clients. With the support, education, and a company that ALWAYS does the right thing, I ended up being named ‘Agent of the Year’ my first year in the role, and my Indianapolis market became the number one market out of the entire bank partnership. I have since transitioned to my new role as Strategic Partnership Director where I help foster engaging relationships with strategic partners to provide our award-winning services to their business and their clients.”

Q. What do you like most about working at i3 Merchant Solutions?

A. “The support of i3 Merchant Solutions both professionally and personally is phenomenal. i3 Merchant Solutions truly cares about us, as employees, and wants every one of us to succeed. I had a child, graduated with an undergraduate degree, will finish my MBA in two months, and was promoted all while working at i3 Merchant Solutions — which shows the support that i3 Merchant Solutions has for its employees. When employees know that their company has their backs, it promotes an environment for productive, quality work. And all of this is ultimately reflected in the positive customer experience that i3 Merchant Solutions is known for.”

Q. What is your favorite inspirational quote?

A. “‘Anyone can give up; it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone would expect you to fall apart, that’s true strength.’ by Chris Bradford.”

Q. What would be the title of your autobiography?

A. “Bless Her Heart”.
